Dry Skin

Dry Skin

Why is cleansing in the morning and at night important?

As we know cleansing removes the skin's epidermis (top layer) of dead cells, oil, pollution and perspiration. Not doing a daily cleanse can cause the skin to become dull and flaky.  The oil glands block up with cellular waste causing breakouts and congestion.

The best way to clean your skin is in the morning and night before bedtime.
Take 30 seconds for each cleanse using circular movements, starting in the center, then up, outwards, down and back to center.  Rinse off with warm or lukewarm water, do not use hot water, It will cause your skin to dry out even more.

Make sure to moisturize your skin with SPF, very important.

Below are 3 recipes that I chose to share.  Note that Avocado (rich in vitamin E) and honey (a great source of antioxidant) are the main ingredients you should focus on, however only do the mask twice a week.

Cleanser for extra dry skin

1 teaspoon of Aloe Vera gel
1 teaspoon of honey
1 egg yolk

Step One. Mix the Aloe Vera gel together with the honey and egg yolk in a small bowl
Step Two. Apply to face and neck in a circular upwards motion and leave for 5 minutes before washing off with warm water. Pat dry

Honey Facial Mask Recipe for Dry, Flaky Skin

1 tablespoon honey

Mix together egg and honey. Spread onto your face and neck and let sit for 15-20 minutes. Rinse well with tepid water

Avocado and Yogurt Facial Mask for Dry Skin

Put Avocado in a blender or food processor with four tablespoons of plain yogurt. Blend until smooth. Apply the mixture to your face, avoiding the eye area. Leave on for ten to fifteen minutes, and then rinse your face with warm water.
